  1. Bobo, overall this blog does more harm than good. It is my belief that the only individuals who post are the ones who are involved with theatre. The general public (who make up the audience) does not give a darn about the politics of the theatres in this town. I recognize that you want to have discussions on here, but it just doesn't happen. Sure, once in awhile you get a good post, but enough is enough already. Please note that I am not affiliated with any particular theatre in town. I am just a volunteer/patron who feels that this "blog" can only be detrimental. Thanks!

  2. I think it's worthwhile to have somewhere to discuss theatre in this town besides over drinks at Charley's. I'm willing to sift through some petty comments to get to good conversation about Lerner and Lowe's intentions, etc. The admin. of the blog has done a good job cleaning it up, and hopefully the site can distill down to a discussion of theatre as an art form.

  3. Tonight we removed six comments to this post, and that does seem excessive.
What happened at the Civic a year and a half ago IS old news, but the emergence of a new community theater isn't. In my Inlander "Theater Week" article (Oct. 6 issue), I felt that the "Where did these Ignite! people come from?" question was worth asking, since some readers might reasonably be skeptical about the need for another local theatrical troupe.

Of course the general public (along with one billion Chinese) don't give two hoots about this blog; it was always intended for the small (and apparently quite opinionated!) Spokane theater community.

Bobo's enjoying this blog and believes in it; others have said as much; and I respectfully disagree that more bad than good has come of all this.

Longish interviews with directors of college shows; features on local theater types; quick word-spreading about upcoming projects; a chance to publish production photos in advance and provide sneak peeks -- there's a lot of good that has and can continue to thrust forth from this particular stage.
