Actors Rep cancels season

Bobo has been out of town, so is just now reading in this morning's Spokesman that Actors Repertory Theatre has cancelled the rest of its season, citing unforeseen financial problems.
There are no plans to disband, and *Earnest* will continue through Sept. 6, but then that's it for this year.
More later.

Am I missing someting? This was printed in this morning's (AUG 31, same as your post) Spokesman:

http://www.spokesmanreview.com/features/story.asp?ID=258773

...about how ARt and Civic are optimistic about their seasons

...and it lists the rest of ARt's season

Yes,and there was a brief on the front page of the Northwest section explaining the contradiction. After *Earnest,*, ARt's season is cancelled.

Bobo, I trust you will get an in-depth honest explanation as to what is going on/what happened? How does the city's best theatre simply close?

And still no comment on CenterStage or Ella's? Your bias is showing.

Wow. I only come over here once in a while any more (hence my radio silence) to check in on any actual news I might have missed, but "anonymous 1:39" seems a bit off-base (not to mention mispunctuated).

Ms. Duke's contractual collaboration with any producing organiztion is purely voluntary on both sides, I'm sure. Implying that any one person, celebrity or not, is a trump card in a much more detailed game of shifting ground is misinformed at best, insensitive and disrespectful at worst.
